Booked by the hour, member or not
A room for the event you're actually running.
Not a ballroom nobody fills. A room that seats your workshop, your cohort or your judging panel, with the screen, the internet and the coffee already in it, in Valencia Town from PKR 1,000 an hour.

What people run here
Built for the smaller room.
- Tech meetups and talks A speaker, a screen and a room that seats the group around one table. Small enough that people actually talk to each other afterwards.
- Workshops and courses Run a cohort for an afternoon or every week. Power in the table, printing at reception, and the tea does not stop.
- Contests and judging Demo rounds, pitch panels and judging sessions. Book the board room for the panel and a huddle room for the teams waiting.
- Interviews and recording A closed room with a door, away from the floor. Booths take a single person for a remote round.
Coming
A podcast studio. It is being set up now. Call 0311 2200818 if you want to know where it has got to, and we will tell you straight rather than book you into a room that is not finished.
In the price
The things that ruin an event, handled.
- The power stays onGenerator and UPS behind everything. An event that goes dark halfway through is not an event.
- High speed internetFor the stream, the demo and forty people all joining the wifi at once.
- A screen and markersIn the Board Room. The glass is the writing surface, so there is no whiteboard to run out of.
- Tea and coffeeUnlimited, for everyone in the room, with a whole floor given over to the cafeteria downstairs.
- PrintingFree. Handouts, name cards and the thing somebody forgot.
- Someone on receptionStaffed 9AM to 9PM, Monday to Saturday, so guests are met rather than left looking for the door.
Straight answers
Questions from organisers
- Can I book a room at WorkBench without being a member?
- Yes. Rooms are booked by the hour whether or not you are a member, from PKR 1,000 an hour. Call 0311 2200818 with the date and the number of people.
- How many people can you fit for an event?
- The largest room is the Board Room, which seats 10 to 12. We are honest about that rather than overselling it: WorkBench suits a workshop, a training cohort, a recording or a judging panel, not a hundred person conference. For a bigger group, call and we will tell you plainly whether we can do it.
- What does it cost to hire a room for an event?
- The hourly rate for the room, and nothing bolted on. The Board Room is PKR 2,500 an hour and the smaller rooms are from PKR 1,000. Internet, power backup, tea and coffee and printing are already in that.
- Do you have a projector, microphones or a sound system?
- The Board Room has a wall mounted screen and markers. Ask when you call about anything beyond that, so you can plan around what is actually here rather than turning up and finding out.
- Can we run a course or a weekly class here?
- Yes, that is one of the more common bookings. Call about a repeating slot and we will work out the times rather than making you rebook every week.
- Do you have a podcast studio?
- Not yet. It is being set up. Call if you want to know where it has got to, and we will tell you honestly rather than take a booking for a room that is not finished.
- Where exactly are you, and is it easy to get to?
- 13-D, D Block, Valencia Town, Lahore. It is convenient to Johar Town, Wapda Town, Model Town, DHA and Gulberg, which is usually the deciding factor when a group has to travel to it.
